It is wise to make sure that the guides you are listening to are of the light and have your highest good in mind. There are many souls that are grey or dark, that wish to guide humans away from their higher destinies of light. These dark ethereal guides are working to keep people stuck in their patterns, anchoring dark on earth. These types of guides can include the ones we hear in our heads, that channel through others, and that work through some contemporary human teachers claiming to deliver messages from angels, God, or other guides that are not well anchored in the light. Some of the channeled guides, and the human teachers, have huge followings that further make us believe that their teaching must be accurate. Don’t be fooled: it is wise at all times to question the source of the information, never surrender to anyone, always use discernment, and qualify your request for guidance with, “I want only messages that come from light guides interested in assisting me to reach my highest good.” If we do not use discernment we open ourselves to negative messages with a greater chance of getting derailed from our path to enlightenment. We cannot collapse into anyone when it comes to our spiritual path. The dark is too invested in keeping control on earth. The ethereal dark ones will use anyone at their disposal to forward the dark, including dark or ignorant physical teachers. The ethereal dark ones are absolutely tricky, deceptive, and covertly undermining.

There are red flags to watch out for around spiritual teachings. Beware of suggestions that:
- Claim there is no need to be accountable for our past actions or karma
- Are ego-stroking
- Encourage visualizing, co-creating and manifesting
- Deliver a confusing array of past lives
- Promote that our higher selves live in a constant state of bliss and perfection and that that should be our goal as well
- Tantric sex is a shortcut to enlightenment
- There are any shortcuts to enlightenment
- Earth is headed into the fifth dimension
- Are delivered down to you from a pedestal
- Are guru based
- Come from ET’s
- Come from ethereal guides that claim to be from dimensions higher than the fourth.
In addition, you want to be wary of those who claim:
- To come directly from God
- To be Jesus incarnate
- That machines can enlighten you
- You can have anything you want
- That the spiritual path is easy
- That it is not necessary to develop humbleness
- That dolphin sonar or whales can transform you and you don’t have to
- That you can be saved from your karma
- That Jesus or Buddha or any guru can save you from having to transform your own issues
- That their path is the only way to enlightenment
- Drugs or alcohol facilitate enlightenment
- You can effectively transform the world before you transform your life’s lessons.
When we set our internal intent to purity, seeking the highest guidance from only light guides, we install a “crap detector” for truth and reality that will effectively guide our way past any rose-colored glasses. When we desire the truth strongly enough, warning signs will go off inside when something is off-track, to guide our way. This path will not support ego, whims, wants, or addictions to highs. It does support light expansion, soul transformation, and incredible levels of fulfillment, peace, and grace.

Self-Mastery Exercise: Discernment
- Choose a magazine in an area of your expertise.
- Flip through the pages reading only the advertisements.
- Look first at the picture of the person in the ad.
- What does your crap detector say, positive, negative or a mix?
- Now read the ad and see if the text supports your “hit” on the person.
- Do the same process with the TV Guide. Use your intuition to tell you if a program will be good on not. Check it out. How accurate are you?
